On October 4th, 2011 key stakeholders representing many community organizations, commissions and foundations that support Community Services in Palo Alto met to discuss the Community Services Element as part of the City's Comprehensive Plan Amendment effort.
 
The meeting included an introduction and background of the Comprehensive Plan, the scope and process for the amendment project followed by small group discussions on trends or issues that should be included or more emphasized in the Comp Plan update of the Community Services element.  The topics discussed are as follows:
 
1.  The needs of specific population age groups
2.  The creation and improvement of partnerships
3.  The promotion of health and wellness
4.  A sustainable environment and its aesthetics
5.  Engaging the Community
 
Staff and the PTC subcommittee will use the valuable input from the Community Services stakeholder meeting to edit applicable existing policies and programs and add new policies and programs as necessary to the Community Services element of the Comprehensive Plan.
